EMB has today announced that Mike Brockman, one of its founding partners, is to become a Consulting Partner from May 2009. This new role will see Mike hand-over all of his client responsibilities.
Mike, who along with Andrew English, set up the general insurance consulting firm in 1993, has been a key industry figure for over two decades. His contribution to the sector was recognised with the Lifetime Achievement award at last year’s Institute of Actuaries GIRO conference.
Mike commented “Having spent over 20 years as a consulting actuary I have decided that the time was right to pursue some other personal interests. I am very proud of what we have achieved at EMB and although it has been a big decision to handover client responsibilities I am confident in the knowledge that the firm is well positioned to continue to deliver the highest standard of actuarial and consulting advice to the general insurance market. I will continue to be involved with the firm and look forward to being a part, albeit in a lesser capacity, of EMB’s continued success”.
Andrew English commented “Mike’s contribution has been invaluable both in the UK general insurance sector and also in helping to shape EMB from its humble beginning to the world’s leading general insurance actuarial and consulting practice. We look forward to a continued relationship with Mike”.
EMB has also announced that Rory O’Brien is to become, with immediate effect, the firm’s first Managing Partner. Rory joined EMB in May 2008 after serving as Group Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Holdings Limited (GHL) and prior to that as Head of Insurance Consulting at Deloitte.
